Hollywood-Africa, Inc. advocates for better government, business and cultural ties between the continents through the entertainment industry. We do this because we believe that the cross-pollination of their resources will make both stronger.
Our prime mission is advocating on behalf of African governments and businesses in the U.S. entertainment industry. We help establish contacts in Hollywood and Los Angeles and obtain greater representation in American film, television and other media. We also help artists and producers forge entertainment-business opportunities between Los Angeles and Africa.
Because we are steeped in both Hollywood and Africa, we know the kinds of relations that will benefit both sides, and how to forge them.
We help African artists interface with Hollywood film-makers and record companies in order to realize their potential for success in the United States and globally. We also help American movie producers and directors identify opportunities to work with known and creative up-and-coming scriptwriters on the continent and advise them during shooting so their works are authentic and avoid stereotypes.
One way we do this is by creating networking opportunities in Los Angeles for entertainment-industry leaders interested in Africa. We invite Americans, Africans, Europeans, Japanese and others to parties and other events, or introduce entertainment professionals one-to-one.
In addition, we help African-American artists connect with their African roots. This includes finding them opportunities to create or support art training academies, develop African talent, and mentor young artists.
We also help American entertainment companies find co-production opportunities and non-film-making and record-making opportunities in Africa, like theme-park or movie-theater possibilities. Africa has a surging middle class, meaning these opportunities are viable, and not just pipe dreams.
Because we’re interested in strengthening all ties between Los Angeles and Africa, we also help both sides find non-entertainment business opportunities on the other’s turf. This includes trade and energy possibilities.
